Heather LaMonica Deckard, former Web marketing director for the Sun Valley-Ketchum Chamber & Visitors Bureau, has been named executive director of the Hailey Chamber of Commerce, filling a position left open when Jim Spinelli resigned in October.

Deckard coordinated the annual Wagon Days event in Ketchum for seven years. Several years ago, she co-founded Sun Valley Events, an events coordinating company. She is a native of the Wood River Valley and holds a bachelor's degree from Boise State University.

"Heather has demonstrated, both on a professional and personal level, dedication to the Wood River Valley," new Hailey chamber board President Krista Gehrke stated in a news release. "The needs of our town and business community are growing and changing. We believe that Heather's experience will be a great asset as we enter a new decade."

Gerhke replaces Lisa Emerick as board president this month.

"The Hailey chamber has a fantastic staff, board, volunteers and membership, all working together to set and meet goals," Deckard said. "I am pleased to have been invited to join them."
