Our skies are dark enough

In response to Stephen Pauley's letter in the Dec. 9 edition: Steve, I just can't get behind this dark-sky policy you are pushing. What you convinced Hailey to do to its Main Street lighting system mystifies me. I am surprised that someone hasn't been killed. It is next to impossible to see any moving object while driving at night through the area with the down-targeted lighting. So, I for one really don't want to see a dark-sky ordinance for the county or anywhere else. I suggest moving further out into the country away from your neighbors' annoying lights and/or close your curtains at night.

Here's to being able to see you crossing the street at night.
