A jury trial set to start Tuesday was averted when a Ketchum stabbing suspect pleaded guilty to aggravated battery in Blaine County 5th District Court.
David Rojas-Peralta, a 33-year-old Peruvian native living in Ketchum, entered his guilty plea Monday afternoon in accord with a plea agreement with the Blaine County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. Terms of the agreement were not available by press deadline Tuesday.
Rojas-Peralta was charged with the crime for stabbing 36-year-old Roger Mansecidor Rubin, another Peruvian, several times at Rojas-Peralta's residence at the Ketchum Korral cabins on June 22.

Rojas-Peralta remained incarcerated Tuesday in the Blaine County jail on $100,000 bond, awaiting sentencing Feb. 1. According to court and jail records, Rojas-Peralta is suspected of being in the United States illegally and may face deportation once released from custody.
Cancellation of the Rojas-Peralta trial cleared Judge Robert J. Elgee's docket for another trial that started with jury selection Tuesday morning and is expected to last for three days.
Filiberto Solis-Vidal, a 45-year-old Hailey man, is being tried on a felony charge of domestic battery with traumatic injury. Solis-Vidal is accused of injuring his wife in an altercation on July 6.
According to court records, Solis-Vidal is free on $10,000 bond. Court records further state that he filed to divorce his wife on July 17.
