Bellevue Kids Give ‘Bear Hugs’

Bellevue Elementary School students and teachers donated 40 toy bears on Monday to the “Bear Hugs” program for the Bellevue Marshal’s Office and the Bellevue Fire Department. Police and firemen give the bears to children caught up in emergency or stressful situations as a way of helping the children deal with the stress. At a special assembly Monday, Bellevue students Jette Ward (left) and Bella Hadam hold bears ready for donation. Express photo by David N. Seelig
