Rotarun starts fundraising drive

By EXPRESS STAFF

As the ski season nears at Rotarun ski area near Hailey, efforts are continuing to be made to raise funds to cover the cost of operations for the 2010 season.

Today, Dec. 16, the "Rotarun Giving Tree" will be installed on the patio outside of KB's and WiseGuy Pizza on Main Street in Hailey. Individuals can purchase snowflake ornaments to help decorate the tree—$5 per individual or $25 per family donation. At the $25 level, each donor will be entitled to one complimentary ticket to ski or snowboard at Rotarun during the 2010 season. Snowflake ornaments will be sold at Atkinsons' in Hailey through Dec. 18. A lighting of the "Rotarun Giving Tree" is scheduled for Dec. 23 at 6 p.m.

Ticket sales only pay for one-third of the true operating costs of Rotarun. Operational expenses are largely covered by donations from individuals and corporations in the Wood River Valley.

Rotarun is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and donations are tax deductible.
