It’s All About the ’tude

By CHRIS MILLSPAUGH

Despite health care problems, Tiger Woods' indiscretions, gate crashing at the White House, bark beetles nipping at our trees and forecasts of blizzards everywhere but here, we can all have a happy holiday season. It's all in your attitude, don't you see?

There are things to be happy about, like for instance, we're still here. We're still here with the promise to turn our lives around again no matter what has befallen us. It's all about the 'tude.

I know this has been a tough year and the predictions for the next year are immersed in, what we now refer to as, the "grey area." But, look, we have all gone through the tough times before and we're still here. It's all about the 'tude.

In life, one door shuts and another one opens. Sometimes we have to adjust our thoughts and goals. Negativity has never enhanced anyone's life. It would probably be a pretty good idea to step away from the darkness and pursue the path to the lightness of being. It's all in the 'tude.

Wouldn't it be better to embrace the joys of the holiday season and forgive everybody and everything, even yourself? The new year awaits and the promise to get things right emerges into view for all of us. Plans can be put into motion to correct our lives, choose more wisely and proceed with hope. Life goes on and how we progress is up to us individually. It's all about the 'tude.

So, happy holidays, everyone—appreciate what you have and embrace the people you love and the people who love you.

Nice talking to you ...
