When Edward Albee debuted his Pulitzer Prize-winning play "Three Tall Women" in 1991 at Vienna's English Theatre in Austria, he secured his place as one of the most important playwrights of the 20th century. The play centers on a woman who reflects upon her life experiences from her 20s, 50s and 90s.

Presented by the Royal Larkspur Play Troupe, "Three Tall Women" will be performed as a staged workshop at the St. Thomas Church in Ketchum on Friday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. The performance is free and will include drinks and light refreshments. Donations will be accepted for the St. Thomas Playhouse fund.

"Three Tall Women" will include Rebecca Fuller, Connie Hoffman and Janice Payne, who present the story of the life of a 92-year-old woman. Cam Cooper plays the son.

"The play handles death—not in a sorrowful way—but learning to live with it," said Gary Hoffman, producer and founder of the Royal Larkspur Play Troupe. "The story is told by various ages of the self."

In addition, the Advocates for Survivors of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault are supporting the play because of its relevance to women's issues and women's role in society.

"There is lots of humor in the play," Hoffman said. "And, it was hard to find three tall women."

Albee wrote the play from a very personal perspective and captured the essence of aging, a poignant and universal subject.
