Generosity shows again

The Wood River community is such a special place to live. Just how special it is came to light recently after a tragedy affecting three families in two countries. Eliana Bobadilla, Mariela Bernardino and Dionicio Crispin were killed in a car accident south of Timmerman Hill on Oct. 30.

Their families and friends wish to thank everyone involved in making it possible to send them home to Peru so they could be laid to rest near their immediate families' homes. So many people, businesses and churches in this community were willing to give their time to help raise the money needed by donating directly and/or placing collection boxes all over the valley. Some even donated goods for the pollada, a fundraising Peruvian dinner held Nov. 7.

Eliana, Mariela and Dionicio were sent home on Nov. 24, and it was all made possible by the generous and compassionate community in which we are lucky to live. The families will always remember and be thankful to those who helped during their time of grief and need. Thank you to everyone and God bless.
