Claude Guigon deserves better

The essence of Claude Guigon's contributions to Sun Valley, its guests and our greater community since he and Ghislaine arrived 28 years ago, which is when we first met, is of significantly greater impact than his role in directing food and beverage services. Our family and friends in the Wood River Valley and beyond came to know Claude for his incredible dedication as he worked tirelessly to ensure that guests felt welcomed and were cared for with savoir faire, which was unique to Sun Valley.

Claude has a pride in Sun Valley that is palpable and contagious. Visitors became devoted to Sun Valley as a result of Claude's devotion to them. Claude also mentored hundreds of employees, many of whom commented over the years about how much they had learned and that they quickly came to consider the Guigons as family.

I believe anyone who has been fortunate enough to have had the benefit of Claude's dedication will agree that he is owed one heck of a lot better than the tepid remarks quoted in the article. With the significant advances the Holdings have brought to Sun Valley, it is hoped that if their new management team now chooses not to utilize Claude for his remarkable skills, that they would, at a minimum, celebrate such an extraordinary and loyal member of the Sun Valley family for his many accomplishments.
