More lunacy in Ketchum

Now that the election is over, it appears that we are in for more of the same for the next couple of years.

Think about the logic of the present administration: Put a giant hotel in the middle of the residential district. Restrict the size in the business district. Put residential units in the middle of the light-industrial district. Remove all of the recreation facilities in town.

Give away the taxpayers' money to the YMCA. Widen Fourth Street to remove all of the parking, hoping to encourage tourists to come to town when they hear about Fourth Street. Give away millions of dollars worth of land for the Simplot development. Encourage the dangerous and inefficient concept of back-in parking.

Try to revitalize the city of Ketchum, which they themselves devitalized. Spend millions and millions of dollars to build a new, unneeded airport. Spend millions and millions of dollars for consultants to do nothing but take money from the taxpayers and then leave town, leaving their mess behind. Listen to those who are interested in nothing but money, ignoring the pleas of the much-too-tolerant public.

What next? They are well on their way to the ruination of Ketchum, a once nice town full of friendly people.
