Lady Wolverines win second game by 19

Two for the road


The Wood River High School girls' varsity basketball team has started the season on the right foot—picking up its second win of the season at Wendell Tuesday.

Boasting four consistent quarters of double-digit scoring, the Wolverines beat Wendell 56-37. Leading 26-10 at halftime, and 39-15 at the end of three, Wood River withstood a 22-point fourth quarter by the Trojans to win by 19 points.

The leading scorer in the game was Hailey sophomore K.T. Martinez with 23 points. For the second straight game, Monica Garceau tallied 11 points. Haylee Thompson scored 7, Grace Lagodich 6, Cheyanne Swanson 6, Brooke Bowers 2, Tristin Bowers 1 and Kelly Chapman 1.

The Wolverines (2-0) played their first home game Thursday against Filer, and travel to Kimberly Tuesday.
