Benefit to celebrate 60-year-olds and friends

A benefit at the Gun Club on Ohio Gulch Road tonight will celebrate community members turning 60. In addition, the benefit will help with medical expenses for Greg Cordovano and Jane Nicoll. The Kim Stocking Band will play music from 7:30-11 p.m. The event is BYOB and a $15 donation is suggested at the door. The benefit will also include a silent auction and a raffle. 'The Wind at Irving's' to air on Idaho Public Television

"The Wind at Irving's," a documentary film by Wood River Valley resident David Butterfield, will air on Idaho Public Television, local channel 10, on Monday, Nov. 16, at 10 p.m.

The 45-minute political documentary takes place at Irving's Red Hots hot dog stand in Ketchum. The film features interviews with local residents Mickey Garcia, Linde Hoff, Paul Kaiser, Don Lappin, Kim Nalen, Kipp Nelson, Sue Noel, Pawan Mehra, Jill Rubin, Rick Silvia and Miles Stanislaw. The film's music is by Susan Spelius Dunning and Bruce Innes.

Silver Creek High School to provide Thanksgiving baskets

In anticipation of a greater need to provide people with food due to the economy, the Silver Creek High School is ready to give out Thanksgiving baskets at 1060 Fox Acres Road, behind the Community Campus in Hailey on Monday, Nov. 23, and Tuesday, Nov. 24, from 3-7 p.m. Valley residents have donated food, and turkeys were donated by The Life Church in Hailey, Atkinsons' Markets and private donations. Dance for Parkinson's

Zenergy at Thundersprings in Ketchum will offer dancing for anyone affected by Parkinson's Disease on Friday, Nov. 1, at 1 p.m. The Wood River Parkinson Group is sponsoring the dance, which will be led by choreographer and dance instructor Diane Olson. Olson will model the Parkinson's dancing class on a program by New York's Mark Morris Dance Group. All are welcome and partners are encouraged to attend. The class is free.
