Through art, dance and music, Wood River High School senior Alexandra Haupt will provide a service to those in need. "Dance for Hunger" is a performing arts show Haupt has organized as a benefit for the Hunger Coalition.

Haupt is a Footlight Dance Center senior company dancer and will present "Dance for Hunger" on Sunday, Nov. 15, at 4 p.m. at the Community Campus in Hailey. Admission to the show is a $5 donation or boxed or canned goods. All proceeds and food donations will benefit the Hunger Coalition.

Haupt created her production through the guidance of Naomi Spence, food program manager at the Hunger Coalition, and Hilarie Neely, director of Footlight Dance Center.

Pat Robinson will play a violin piece with three Wood River High School Colla Voce singers. In addition, there will be performances by dancers Alberta Jefferson, Anne Heiner, Brita Gaeddart, Annette Taylor, Jonnie Pedersen, Dani Theobald, Keah Jones, Mariah Davis, Ingrid Peterson, Karlie Jeneson, Dylan Peterson, Pancho Molina, Luis Chavez, Guy Herrera and Alejandro Garcia.

Haupt said art is the perfect outlet to give, and through the performance attendees will have an understanding of the process of giving to a worthy cause.
