Ketchum voters stuck with their incumbents Tuesday, re-electing Mayor Randy Hall and City Councilman Baird Gourlay. The only newcomer to City Hall will be restaurant owner—and now councilwoman—Nina Jonas.

Voters went to the polls in droves on Tuesday. Voter turnout was just under 52 percent.

It's been a busy election season for the city, with seven candidates running for two council seats and three others vying for the mayor's office.

Final tabulations in the council race were: Jonas—564; Gourlay, a business owner—460; software engineer Lee Chubb—304; attorney Ed Simon—273; Ketchum Community Development Corp. board member Jan Hegewald—214; contractor Carter Ramsay—122; and hotel owner Peter Lewis—54.

In the mayor's race, incumbent Hall earned 501 votes, Phyllis Shafran received 414, and Mickey Garcia earned 107.

Of the city's four council seats, two were up for grabs this year. Gourlay was running to keep his seat, but Councilman Charles Conn decided to not run for re-election.

Council issues this election were management of the city's Urban Renewal Agency, hotel development, the economy and a dwindling youth population.

Hot topics in the mayor's race were similar, including hotel approvals, affordable housing, the city's meager youth population and the city budget.

A total of 1,063 voters cast ballots, with 189 absentee ballots sent in. The city has 2,059 registered voters.
