A woman was transported by ambulance to St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center following a three-vehicle collision late Wednesday afternoon south of Hailey.

Wood River Fire and Rescue Lt. Charlie Buttlerfield said emergency personnel were dispatched at 5:21 p.m. to the scene of the crash on state Highway 75 south of Countryside Boulevard. He said all vehicles involved in the accident were southbound.

"As traffic was slowing down, one car hit another car and that one hit another car," Butterfield said. "It was kind of a three-car, rear-end accident."

Butterfield said he did not know what caused the crash.

He said the woman transported to the hospital was in her 30s and complained of abdominal pain. He said her injuries were not life threatening.

Additional information was not available from the Blaine County Sheriff's Office by press deadline Thursday afternoon.
