Carey candidates running unopposed

Greg Carlson and Dustin Colton set to join City Council

The city of Carey had only one contender step forward to fill the shoes of Mayor Rick Baird, who resigned earlier this year. Randy Patterson is running unopposed, and has already begun his duties as mayor.

"He was appointed by the City Council after Rick Baird stepped down because no one else was running," City Clerk Lynn Dickerson said.

Carey residents Greg Carlson and Dustin Colton are running for two open City Council seats. Each candidate needs only one vote to be guaranteed a seat on the council.

Voters can cast their votes at Carey City Hall, 20482 N. Main St., in Carey, on Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
