The Mountain School will present an "Enchanted Adventure" at the Mansion at Crystal Creek Ranch, south of Bellevue, next weekend, Nov. 7 and 8.

The event will be a fundraiser for the Mountain School, a private school in Bellevue for 4- to 12-year-old children with a curriculum based on Waldorf philosophy.

The school's director, Katharine Woods, has been entertaining valley audiences for nearly a decade with her magical interactive drama performances. The event will be put on by school students and staff, local actors and parents.

After being welcomed in the Great Hall of the Mansion, the audience will be broken into smaller groups and led by their wizard guide on a journey through six timeless children's tales. Participants will be able to follow Hansel and Gretel on their journey to the gingerbread house, join in on the Mad Hatter's tea party and visit the gypsy fortuneteller, among other adventures.

Each group will have the chance to buy homemade soups, breads, sweets, chai and apple cider while local guitarists entertain.

New this year will be the addition of the Harvest and Handmade Holiday Gift Market. The market will feature handmade items created by Mountain School families, including needle-felted gnomes, bunting dolls, wooden swords, dyed play silks and special Waldorf education art supplies such as beeswax crayons and "fancy chalk."
