It’s a Nightmare celebration

Ketchum Halloween street party is a howl and horror

Get ready for the Time Warp and bring the party favors for a screening of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" at the nexStage Theatre in Ketchum for Ketchum's third annual Nightmare on Main Street.

The film will start at 9 p.m. and the nexStage Theatre is prepared to host the real event with audience participation. Doors will open at 8:30 p.m. for some pre-movie libations. Tickets cost $5 at the door, and will include admission to the street party.

The street party will begin at 8:30 p.m. with music by DJ Deban. Food and beverages will be provided outside and inside by the Roosevelt and the Sawtooth Club. The Casino will also be open for drinks.

A costume contest will begin at 11 p.m. at the Main Street stage and prizes will be awarded in the categories for Best Rocky Horror Picture Show Themed, Best Group and Most Original. In addition, a grand prize and runner-up prizes will be given for each category. Entrance to the street party is $5 and wristbands will be available for those 21 and over.

Mountain Rides will offer extended service for the evening's event. In addition to its regularly scheduled bus service to and from Hailey and Bellevue, there will be return buses leaving from the regular stop at Main and First streets at 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. Regular fares will apply for Valley Route Service and free service for the Town Route will remain in effect.

-Where: Howard Preserve in Bellevue.

-When: Thursday, Oct. 29, and Friday, Oct. 30, from 5:30-9:15 p.m.

-Tickets are $5; no children under 5 admitted. Children under 10 should come before dark.

-500 tickets will be pre-sold for each night at the following Bellevue locations: Oak St. Café, Jesse's, Mahoney's, The BrickHouse Bar and Grill, Great American Log Furniture and The Bead Shop in Hailey.
