Nina for City Council

I urge you to vote for Nina Jonas for Ketchum City Council in November. Nina is a political newcomer, but grew up here, returned after attending Smith College and the London School of Economics and now has a successful restaurant, Rickshaw, with her husband, Andreas Heaphy.

I am impressed that Nina has taken the time to meet with many of those involved in the city of Ketchum, its issues, Blaine County, and even some of her opponents, to learn about their concerns.

In fact, in one of her meetings, the Ketchum City staff person stated that this was only the second time during his many years of public service that a candidate had ever requested a meeting to talk about current issues before being elected to the council. Now how important is this ... someone who actually takes the time to learn about the issues.

I believe that the Ketchum City Council needs more members who ask questions, listen, and become knowledgeable on items before making a decision; in other words, someone like Nina who has no particular agenda but to work for the future of the city and to bring new jobs and new vitality to our community.

Get to know Nina, then vote for her on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
