Council Circle supports levy

What makes the most sense to us as ambassadors of youth development? Passing the Blaine County School District plant facility levy so the general operating budget can be used strictly for our school's programs and curriculums. The Council Circle Foundation Inc., home to the Youth Circle after-school program, unanimously endorses the levy.

Our mission as an organization is to provide emotionally supportive programs to children and adults that foster healthy community. We believe that our mission is in alignment with the school district's strategic plan, specifically goals 4 and 5. If the levy is passed, we can continue, along with the district's support from the operating budget, to focus on being part of the development of the whole child and teach Blaine County youth healthy social and emotional behaviors.

Youth Circle has taken place on Blaine County school campuses for 13 years. One of our main objectives has always been to offer parents a safe place for kids to go after school. The levy would help ensure our participants safety in a way that we have never been able to offer before by installing security cameras at each school and having the capabilities for automatic lockdown. Being one of the few programs on campus after school, we value that extra protection and security for the youth we serve in the valley.

Let's keep the existing funding going towards the programs that support asset and character building and pass the levy that could address the other critical goals of the well-rounded Blaine County School District strategic plan.
