Runners and walkers honored the memory of a fine young man, Willie Neal, during Saturday's "Willie's Run for the Environment," at Hulen Meadows Park north of Ketchum. There were 91 participants for the senior project of Wood River High School student Daniel Sundali.

The 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) trail run remembered Jackson Hole's Willie Neal, 19. He was a Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation cross-country skier who died in a June 2009 roller skiing accident in Maine. Proceeds went to the Willie Neal Environmental Awareness Fund.

Leading male and female runners were Jeremy Skinner and Martha DeWolfe. In the kids' race, Georgia Morgan, 5, ended up first and Hank Morgan, 3, was second. Sundali said, "Thanks to all of the volunteers and sponsors who helped at the race. We couldn't have done it without you."
