Jim Spinelli

The Hailey Chamber of Commerce announced Wednesday that Executive Director Jim Spinelli has resigned from his position.

Spinelli led the chamber for the past two years, before which he had spent a year as Hailey city administrator. This was Spinelli's second stint as the chamber's executive director, having held the position before working for the city.

In a news release, the chamber board applauded Spinelli's efforts to "lead the organization through a period of strong growth" and for greatly improving the services available to chamber members.

No reason was given for Spinelli's resignation.

"The chamber is in transition and will start looking for a new director as soon as possible," said Anna Svidgal, assistant executive director of the chamber, in an interview. "Hailey has been a happening place because of Jim's work. We went from three to 18 events a year."

The Express attempted to contact Spinelli at his office, by e-mail and cell phone. Spinelli refused to comment. Attempts to reach three members of the chamber's board of directors were unsuccessful.
