On a cool Wednesday with sunny conditions, the Wood River High School boys' cross country team won the team title of the seven-team American Falls Invitational 3.1-miler.
Although top-ranked Idaho 4A runner Chase Caulkins of Wood River was still sick and didn't run, junior James Paris ran another great race and placed right behind the defending State 2A champion and 2009 top-ranked 2A runner Caden Portela, a Firth junior.
The Wolverine girls placed third as a team. Here are Wood River's results:

Others: Andreas Morales 21:08, Connor Hesselbacher 21:47, Nick Howard 21:48, Zeb Glenn 22:22, Brandon Beall 22:35 and Jake Adicoff 24:13.
Girls: 4—Corrine Smith 21:23. Other times were Tristin Bowers 21:53, Dani McLaughlin 24:48, Alison Town 25:06, Brooke Bowers 25:50, Katrina VanGen 28:44, Ashton Lupton 31:10, and Rebecca Self 37:33.
