Express to host Sun Valley forum

Meet the candidates at Pizza and Politics

All five Sun Valley City Council candidates are expected at the 28th annual Pizza and Politics forum, to be held today, Oct. 7, at 6:30 p.m. in Carol's Dollar Mountain Lodge.

The race is for two seats. Only one incumbent, Council President Nils Ribi, is seeking re-election. Councilman Dave Chase is stepping down.

Four others have stepped into the ring, though: Bob Youngman, a former physicist at Los Alamos National Laboratory; Stephen Poindexter, a Sun Valley Resort front desk clerk; Milt Adam, a retired mechanical design engineer in nuclear research; and David Barovetto, an architect.

Since it's an open election, the two candidates with the most votes win.

Sun Valley Resort will provide pizza for the forum, hosted by the Idaho Mountain Express. The newspaper's publisher, Pam Morris, will moderate the event, at which audience members are encouraged to ask questions of the candidates.

The final Pizza and Politics forum, for Hailey and Bellevue elections, will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 6:30 p.m. at the Old Blaine County Courthouse in Hailey.

Video of all three of the Pizza and Politics forums will be posted on the Express Web site, www.mtexpress.com. The video project is sponsored by Western States Geothermal.
