Jury selection continued into its second day Tuesday in Shoshone in the case against a Jerome man charged in the hypothermia death of his 11-year-old daughter last Christmas Day.

The Associated Press reported that more than 100 potential jurors were called to Lincoln County 5th District Court on Monday. Jury selection was expected to be finished Tuesday afternoon.

Robert Aragon, 56, is charged with involuntary manslaughter and felony injury to a child. He was taking his children to visit their mother in the West Magic Reservoir area south of Bellevue on Christmas morning when his vehicle became stuck in snow on West Magic Road.

Aragon allegedly allowed the children to attempt a walk of about 10 miles. Blizzard conditions set in later in the day.

Twelve-year-old Bear Aragon was found later that evening, cold but alive, in an unheated roadside restroom on West Magic Road. Eleven-year-old Sage Aragon was found dead early the following morning along the side of the road.

The case has received national news media attention and the trial is being recorded by truTV.

The trial is expected to last about a week.
