Mary Anne Wood

Mary Anne (Christensen Kindred) Wood, 54, of Hailey, passed away Wednesday morning, Sept. 30, 2009, after a brave battle with an illness.

Mary Anne, known as M.A. to her friends, embraced every aspect of life and lived with great joy and exuberance. She moved to Hailey in 1980 and worked at a wide variety of local establishments, including the Southside Deli, the Coffee Grinder, Burger Haus, Starwood Bakery, the Terra Cotta Café and Lonestar Interior Design. Her warm greetings, smiles and big heart led to friendships that carried throughout the years with customers and coworkers alike.

M.A. was most happy when she was with her family, playing with her cats, working in her garden or coming up with new creations in her kitchen. Everyone around her loved her sweet treats and waited anxiously for the next batch of cupcakes she would bring to work. On weekends she was always happiest buzzing around her flowers and vegetables, watching everything grow and bloom. She loved everything about the summers in Hailey, and spent as much time as she could outside.

M.A. is survived by her soulmate and husband, Robbie Wood; her sons, Jason and Noah Kindred; many other loving family members and a wonderful collection of friends. A private celebration for friends and family was held on Saturday, Oct. 3, where M.A. was remembered with laughter and tears.

In lieu of flowers, M.A.'s life can be celebrated through donations to the Animal Shelter of the Wood River Valley, Box 1496, Hailey, ID, 83333; or to the Caboodle Ranch, Box 299, Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., 32004.
