Bart Budwig is an Idaho native living in Moscow who has been inspired by music since elementary school. Budwig will perform two shows, tonight and Saturday, at Papa Hemi's Hideaway in Ketchum. The shows are free and begin at 6:30 p.m. both evenings.

Budwig can be described as a little bit folk, indie, rock and blues all rolled into one. He likes to play in a way that makes people feel good, and infuses his music with a great deal of soul. Songs such as "Happy Bones" and "Beautiful Girl" are rich in sound with lyrics about life's simple pleasures.

Early this year Budwig formed the band Bart and the Budwiggers with band members Mike Hightower on acoustic guitar and bass and singing vocals along with Andy Abrams on lead electric guitar and Cooper Trail on drums. Budwig contributes vocals, guitar and trumpet.

Expect to hear influences of Ben Folds, Ben Harper, Cake, Guster, Wallflowers, Fiona Apple, Coldplay, Beck, John Mayer, Josh Ritter, Dave Brubeck and Vince Guaraldi. However, Budwig has his own sound as an acoustic one-man band and with his well-honed indie rock band. Several of Budwig's CDs will be available at Papa Hemi's Hideaway.
