Lacy Marsh, 21, a Sun Valley Ice Rink employee and former Ice Show ensemble cast member from Montana, recently passed her final Gold Level test in compulsory ice dancing, according to a Sun Valley Figure Skating Club (SVFSC) press release.

To achieve the distinction of Gold Level Ice Dancer, Marsh had to pass 21 dance tests before qualified U.S. Figure Skating judges. She earned her first USFS gold medal in 2006 by successfully completing all eight moves in the field tests.

"Only a small percentage of skaters rise to USFS Gold Level skating, and fewer still earn Gold status in more than one discipline," said SVFSC publicity chair Andrea Nelson. "I can recall only four Sun Valley skaters who have achieved double Gold Status in the last decade."

Marsh began figure skating at 10 and focused early in her training on ice dancing. At 17, she left her Missoula home to train in Los Angeles. She moved to Sun Valley in 2006. Her primary coach is two-time Olympian and five-time national champion ice dancer Judy Blumberg of Sun Valley.

Marsh is actively looking for a competitive ice dance partner. She participates in tryouts throughout the country and competes in solo dance events. Hoping to find a dance partner on the East Coast, Marsh moved to Philadelphia in 2008 to train with Robbie Kaine and Oleg Fediukov.

This year, Marsh returned to Sun Valley to resume her work with Blumberg. She passed the Westminster Waltz and completed the Gold Compulsory dance level, partnering with Ice Show ensemble cast member and coach Tyrell Cockrum under Blumberg's direction.

Marsh is well liked by the young skaters at the Sun Valley Ice Rink, the SVFSC reported. Among others, Marsh would like to thank her family for their support and encouragement, the Sun Valley Figure Skating Club, and her coach, Judy Blumberg.
