Busy stretch for WRMS soccer teams

Games and a fundraiser

Home games in Hailey Tuesday and Wednesday against Wendell and Jerome completed a busy two-week stretch for the Wood River Middle School soccer teams. The whirlwind season runs through Oct. 7.

Last week on the road in Twin Falls, Wood River's boys settled for a 1-1 tie with O'Leary Sept. 8 and notched an important 4-1 victory over Stuart Sept. 10. In each game, Wood River controlled the play.

Steven Pfeiffer equalized for Wood River in the O'Leary game, on a Zac Miczulski assist. Against Stuart, a team that had beaten Wood River 5-0 and 3-0 last year, the Hailey boys made it 1-1 at halftime on a perfectly placed corner kick by Andrew Graves that Brandon Dolenar headed into the net.

The second half in the Stuart game was all Wood River—goals by Jose Ortiz, Ethan Kjesbo and Kyle Mungall coming on assists by Pfeiffer, Ortiz and Drew Morse.

Wood River traveled to Bliss Monday.

The soccer team expressed its thanks to the community for its support of the fundraiser for new uniforms on Saturday, Sept. 12. A big turnout for the boys' and girls' teams created a need for new uniforms.
