Inspiring and cultivating dance as an experience, the Dirty Feet Dance Company will present its second performance at the Hailey Yoga Center in Alturas Plaza. The performance will be a benefit for Greg Cordovano and his family. Greg's wife, Denise, is a member of the dance company and a choreographer for its "Collective Collections" performance. Greg was injured in a motorcycle accident two weeks ago and remains in Saint Alponsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

"She cannot be in the show any more because she is spending all of her time in Boise," said Alysha Beth Oclassen, the dance company's founder. "I really want to support the family in such a tough time."

Oclassen, also owner of Pure Body Pilates Studio in Hailey, has bumped up the ticket prices for the show to $20, created a raffle and will give proceeds after the cost of the production to the family.

"I am amazed how many people have donated to the raffle," she said. "People donated from all over the valley."

Raffle prizes include art, a weekend stay at the Featherbed Inn, jewelry, wine, gift cards and two sides of a whole beef.

"The chances of winning are very good," Oclassen said.

Oclassen's first show in April was attended by more than 200 people, and the company has been rehearsing since then for its second performance. Oclassen will bring friend, dancer and choreographer Jessica Humphrey to assist and be part of the show.

"It's a whirlwind," Oclassen said. "I have different people to choreograph. Many more than the first show."

She said the company choreographers all came up with similar themes for the dance performances even though they did not talk about the pieces before they started to create the show. It was a collective process, which inspired the title of the production, "Collective Collections." Each dance is an original piece choreographed by the dancers, who are Oclassen, Pat Robinson, Ann Winton, Sherry Horton, Ruth Clark, Ali Maricich, Sage Pressman, Cassidy Brice, Caron MacNamara, Lindsay Lascheck, Kat Thorp and Hanna Curran.

"My hope is to expand the support of dance in the valley," Oclassen said. "I want to create an outlet to experience different dance."

"Collective Collections" will feature contemporary, modern and post-modern dance. Oclassen said it's very fresh and an exciting approach to creative movement. Eventually, Oclassen hopes to have live music accompany the Dirty Feet Dance Company performances.

For those unable to attend, donations to the Greg Cordovano fund can be made at any Bank of America location in the name of Greg Cordovano. For details, call 721-8594.
