Misdemeanor charges have been filed in two counties against a Fairfield man accused of falsely reporting his vehicle stolen after he allegedly crashed it into three other vehicles last month at a Woodside residence in Hailey.

Hailey Police Chief Jeff Gunter said Monday that Kenneth Fahrenwald, 39, has been cited in Blaine County for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident and in Camas County for allegedly filing a false police report.

Fahrenwald is accused of driving his maroon-and-silver Chevrolet pickup the morning of July 31 when it went through a yard and crashed into three vehicles parked in the driveway at 3040 Woodside Blvd. Damage to the three parked vehicles was estimated at $10,000.

Fahrenwald's pickup was found abandoned on Sunday, Aug. 2, near Hailey Elementary School. Hailey police stated that Fahrenwald had earlier reported the vehicle stolen.

Camas County Sheriff Dave Sanders confirmed that a complaint against Fahrenwald was filed in his county.

"Things just didn't add up," Sanders said Monday. "We have evidence he did file a false police report."
