Revealed: Best of the Valley

Results of valley-wide survey published in Sun Valley Guide

By EXPRESS STAFF

The Sun Valley Guide’s first Best of the Valley magazine is on stands now.

Want to know where to find the best pizza? Who has the best bartender? The location of the best fishing hole? The answers to these and many other burning "Best Of the Valley" questions can be found in the latest issue of the Sun Valley Guide magazine.

The Best of the Valley issue, published this week, contains the results of the Sun Valley Guide's first poll of Wood River Valley residents and visitors. Conducted over five weeks in April, the 110 question, online survey was completed by over 1,100 individuals, making it the most comprehensive the Wood River Valley has seen. Add in various measures employed to prevent "ballot-stuffing" and the results are the most accurate portrayal of the valley's best businesses, services, restaurants, entertainment, people and recreational pursuits ever published.

The Best of the Valley issue also contains feature stories based around some of the results of the survey. Read about the best mountain bike trail, Fox Creek, from the perspective of the valley's best athlete, Rebecca Rusch. Discover ski guru Dick Dorworth's take on Baldy's best ski run, Limelight. Take a tour around the best places to see and be seen in the valley, share a tantalizing tomato salad with the valley's best chef, and meet the valley's best doctor, best teacher and the hearts and minds behind the valley's best non-profit.

The Sun Valley Guide's Best of the Valley issue is published by Express Publishing that owns the Idaho Mountain Express. Committed to emerging green business practices, Express Publishing chose Blip Printers in Twin Falls to produce the magazine. Blip used paper for the magazine's interior that is certified as being from sustainable forests by the global Forest Stewardship Council.

The FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world's forests.

The magazine's cover stock was also green-certified by another independent not for profit organization, the Sustainable Forestry Initiative.

"The paper choices make this issue the greenest in the Wood River Valley, but also the only one printed and produced entirely in Idaho," said Editor Jennifer Tuohy.
