End of long course season for swimmers

Eleven SV5B/YMCA swimmers coached by Brian Gallagher clocked impressive times at the July 31-Aug. 1 Summer Championships in Boise. Many made it to the finals and several achieved record times.

The recent meet marked the end of the Long Course season and the beginning of the Short Course season. High school swimmers are practicing daily in anticipation of the fall season starting in September.

Kaedi Fry led the way with three individual first-place finishes while Lena Friesen captured one gold. Second- and third-place swimmers included Michael Coiner and Friesen.

Jon Atkinson, 17: 6—100 free.

Tayler Bates, 14: 5—100 fly.

Michael Coiner, 17: 2—100 free, 400 free and 200 back; 3—100 back; 4—50 back; 6—50 free.

Taylor Coiner, 17: 5—100 fly, 200 IM, 400 IM and 400 free; 6—100 breast; 7—50 free and 200 free.

Lena Friesen, 14: 1—200 free; 2—50 free, 100 free, 200 IM and 50 breast; 3—100 back and 100 breast.

Elizabeth Fry, 15: 3—100 breast; 6—100 free, 100 fly and 400 IM; 8—200 free; 9—400 free.

Kaedi Fry, 12: 1—50 back, 50 breast and 100 breast; 2—100 back and 200 IM; 4—100 free.

Kelsey Syms, 13: 5—200 back; 7—50 back and 200 IM.

Crystal Tullis, 14: 13—50 back; 16—50 free and 100 breast; 17—100 free; 19—200 IM.

Loni Unser, 11: 16—50 breast; 17—100 breast; 19—50 back; 21—50 free.

Olivia Wentzell, 11: 10—50 breast; 11—50 back; 14—100 back; 18—50 free.
