Marva Carmene Dilworth


Marva Carmene Dilworth, 76, died at the Lincoln County Care Center in Shoshone on July 29, 2009.

Carmene was born on Jan. 22, 1933, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to William and Lillian Brighton. She grew up in Coltman, Idaho, and graduated from Ucon, Idaho. She attended Rick's College and Brigham Young University, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She married Arlen Dilworth in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on August 22, 1958, and moved to Pocatello, Idaho. Carmene and Arlen had five sons and two daughters. She spent the last 41 years of her life in Carey, Idaho.

Carmene enjoyed her life as a homemaker and second-grade teacher at the Carey Elementary School. She was an active member of the LDS church and served two missions with her husband. She also enjoyed traveling with Arlen. Carmene always had a very pleasant disposition, and she was loved by all. She was genuinely caring and giving and loved to serve others.

She is survived by her husband Arlen, her sons Ted, Deloi, Dan, William and Matt, her daughters Beverly and Carma, 30 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday, August 3, at the Carey Stake Center. Carmene is laid to rest in the Carey Cemetery in Carey, Idaho.
