Three people were injured in a vehicle accident last Thursday evening in Camas County near Fairfield.

Idaho State Police reported that the accident occurred around 8:45 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 20 and state Highway 46. ISP reported that a northbound 1994 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Juliann Kocherhans, 49, of Twin Falls, "failed to stop at the stop sign on U.S. 20" and collided with an eastbound 2008 Ford Prius driven by Gary Fredricks, 62, of Palm Springs, Calif.

Kocherhans was flown by emergency helicopter to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Kocherhans was not listed as a patient at Saint Alphonsus on Monday.

ISP reported that Fredricks and a passenger, identified as Donna Jordan, 58, of Santa Barbara, Calif., were transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center with "non-life threatening injuries."

The accident remained under investigation by ISP, which reported that alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash. An ISP press release made no mention of whether or not any of the victims were wearing seatbelts.
