Hailey police are seeking the driver of a maroon vehicle that caused havoc early Friday morning at a Woodside-area residence.

"This car went through the yard and tore up some trees and damaged three cars," Hailey Police Chief Jeff Gunter said Monday.

Gunter estimated total damage to the vehicles, a 2000 GMC pickup, a 1995 Ford F150 and a 1997 Ford Taurus, at $10,000. All three vehicles were packed in a driveway.

The havoc occurred at 3040 Woodside Boulevard around 2:15 a.m. Gunter said a resident of the home heard a loud crash about that time, found the damage the following morning and called police. The suspect vehicle was long gone by then.

"We do have some evidence from the suspect's vehicle," said Gunter, adding that car parts found at the scene were maroon in color. The year and model of the suspect vehicle were unknown.

"I'm not sure how it happened, but that time of morning I would assume that alcohol was a factor," Gunter said.

The police chief asked anyone with information on the crash to call Hailey police at 788-3531.
