McCann ends up 5th in Burley Spudman

Hundreds compete in 32.5-mile triathlon


Seven Wood River Valley triathletes, including fifth-place Bill McCann of Ketchum, finished Saturday's 23rd annual Burley Lions Spudman Triathlon on a 32.5-mile course. There were 1,350 Olympic distance finishers, 488 women and 862 men at the Burley Marina.

McCann, 39, finished second in Men's 35-39 at 1.56:34. His split times were 14:58 for the one-mile swim, 57:43 for the 25.5-mile bike ride and 40:21 for the six-mile run. The overall men's winner was B.J. Christenson, 31, of Utah in 1.50:35, and the top woman was Heather Loughton, 30, of Utah in 2.10:37, good for 61st place.

55—Dave Gundy, 31, of Boise 2.09:59 (12th 30-34), splits 15:27, 1.04:59 and 46:06. 312—Jeff Shiver, 39, of Hailey 2.25:50 (60th 35-39), splits 17:23, 1.11:06 and 51:34. 318—Jennifer Davis, 41, of Hailey 2.26:10 (9th 40-44, 42nd woman), splits 15:13, 1.12:35 and 54:11.

675—Aaron McCarver, 32, of Hailey 2.40:14 (116th 30-34), splits 16:54, 1.14:02 and 1.04:10. 750—Susan Gundy, 54, of Hailey 2.44:09 (7th 50-54, 181st woman), splits 19:24, 1.16:06 and 1.02:54. 1074—Bradley Thompson, 26, of Hailey 3.01:20 (80th 20-29), splits 20:13, 1.22:13 and 1.12:35. 1181—Ryan Passey, 36, of Hailey 3.12:10 (51st Clydesdale 40-under), splits 20:27, 1.24:41, 1.18:02.
