Ketchum Senior Planner Nathan Warren announced Friday that he will be leaving his position by the end of the month.

Warren, who began working for Ketchum in March 2008, said he is taking a job in Florida and will move there shortly with his wife. He said his last day in office would likely be Tuesday, July 28.

Warren was brought in to help handle several hotel applications being processed by the city over the past year, including the Warm Springs Ranch Resort and Hotel Ketchum.

In an e-mail, Warren said that in August he will begin working as a land-use planner for Science Applications International Companies, a multi-disciplinary scientific, engineering and technology applications company.

"It has been a pleasure working for the city of Ketchum during these past 16 months," Warren said. "I have enjoyed working with the city's fine staff of professionals as well as its citizens and business owners and I will miss my associations here. I wish the city continued success in all its endeavors and hope to see a new hotel or two in Ketchum upon returning to visit in the years to come."

Warren, who hails from Blacksburg, Va., holds a master's degree in urban and regional planning from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

Before taking the position in Ketchum, Warren worked at a private firm in Virginia doing economic development analysis and infrastructure master planning.

Ketchum Community and Economic Director Lisa Horowitz said the city will likely try to fill the position for at least one more year. Horowitz said the salary for the position, between $47,000 and $59,000, would be paid from Planning Department revenues.
