It was fun but a little bittersweet.

Those were sensations felt by head coach Brian Gallagher and 21 SV5B/YMCA swimmers during the fourth annual Summer Heat Meet Invitational July 10-12 at the Twin Falls YMCA pool.

Sun Valley swimmers realized great success at Twin, but they also acknowledged it was the last meet on the team for graduating seniors Rachel McGinnis and Megan Hayes.

Both young women swam strong races. McGinnis placed first in 50 fly, 50 free, 200 back, 100 back and 200 free. Hayes placed second in 200 back, 100 free and 100 back. Both qualified to participate in the 2009 USA Swimming/Speedo Champions Series July 21-25 hosted by Mt. Hood Aquatics.

Other notable SV5B/YMCA results: Forrest Davis placed first in six events in Boys' 13-14; Kaedi Fry first in five out of her seven events and took second twice in Girls' 11-12; and Lena Friesen won 50 breast, 200 back and 100 free in Girls' 13-14.
