Hunt for seashells Saturday at county pool

“Ocean Floor” in Hailey

If you haven't been to the ocean in a while, or if summer has you longing for lazy days on the shore, the Blaine County Aquatic Center just may be able to help you get on "Island Time," Saturday, July 18.

On Saturday from 12-4 p.m., the county pool will be transformed into an "Ocean Floor," with seashells scattered about for the picking.

Bring your mask and snorkel or goggles and your imagination for a day of exploring and gathering in the crystal-clear, heated pool. Once you've gathered some choice shells you'll have the opportunity to turn your finds into a variety of crafts for a small additional charge.

The Kiddie Pool will be available for younger kids, too. Admission is $4 for children 18 and under and $5 for adults. Make an afternoon of it and bring food to cook on the complimentary barbecue pit for a family picnic. There will be food and drinks available to buy at the Snack Shack.
