A Nevada couple shared an ambulance ride after they crashed their motorcycles into each other Sunday morning near Galena Summit.

"Robert ran into Sharon," Blaine County Sheriff's Capt. Ed Fuller said Monday.

Fuller was referring to Elko couple Robert and Sharon Deresa, who were transported by Ketchum Fire Department ambulance to St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center. A sheriff's office report said Robert Deresa, 61, suffered a broken collarbone and broken ribs and that Sharon Deresa, 54, suffered a broken right leg.

The accident occurred around 11:15 a.m. near milepost 156 on state Highway 75 near the top of Galena Pass. Fuller said the couple was in a group of some 10 bikers from Nevada.

According to the sheriff's office report, one of the group, possibly the leader, pulled off the road to take photographs. As the rest of the group slowed down, Robert and Sharon Deresa collided.

In an unrelated incident, Idaho State Police reported that a Boise man was killed in another motorcycle vs. motorcycle collision Saturday afternoon in Elmore County. The accident occurred around 4:40 p.m. on the Pine Bridge some 30 miles north of Mountain Home.

Pronounced dead at the scene was 27-year-old Joseph Paine. ISP reported that Paine was riding with Christopher Frazier, 28, of Marsing, when the men collided on the bridge.

"For unknown reasons, Paine hit Frazier's motorcycle, causing both drivers to lose control," ISP reported. "Frazier crashed on the roadway. Paine ran off the roadway and into the river below."

ISP further reported that neither man was wearing a helmet and that "alcohol appears to be a factor."
