2009 Days of the Old West pay window

Here are the final results of the 62nd annual, $31,694 Days of the Old West rodeo sponsored by the Sawtooth Rangers Riding Club July 2-4 at Hailey Rodeo Arena.

Heading up the Rangers are president Bill Bobbitt, vice president Richard Smith, treasurer Mary Ann Knight and secretary Kelli Taylor. Directors are Bud Amend, Bill Flaherty, Bill Sherbine, Trent Shoemaker and Brad Taylor.

The eight classes in the Idaho Cowboys Association (ICA) and Intermountain Pro Rodeo Association (IMPRA) event are ranked in order from the biggest purse, on down.

Stock contractor was Red Eye Rodeo Co. Arena director was Bud Amend and the announcer was Jason Kelly. Pick-up men were Casey Brunson and Richard Nelson. Judges were Ryan Scherer and Gaylen Brower. Timers were Nancy Durham and Mindy Hoggan, and the funnyman was Donnie Landis. The one writing the checks was rodeo secretary Wade Durham.

Added money ranged from $700 to $1,000 per event. In Saturday's 28th annual Hometown Bullriding competition, none of the seven entries made the eight seconds to qualify for winning the belt buckle.

Final results:

Team roping ($6,960 purse): 1—Ralph Gunter (header) and Dallen Gunter (heeler) 5.1 seconds for $800.40 apiece.

2—Jason Eiguren (header) and Dusty Morse (heeler) 5.2 seconds for $696.00 each. 3—Pete Jones and Jade Stoddard 5.4 for $591.60 each. 4—Richard Eiguren and Shawn Lequerica 5.5 for $487.20 apiece. 5—Bob Thompson and R.C. Crutcher 5.8 for $382.80 each. 6—P.J. Curtis and Todd Wood 6.5 for $278.40 each. 7—John Schutte and Ira Walker 7.7 for $174.00 apiece. 8—Steve Sherwood and Jason Warner 10.1 for $69.60 each (entry $92 per man, 43 teams, $800 added money).

Breakaway roping ($5,064 purse): 1—Katie McFarlane 2.3 seconds for $1,164.72.

2 (tie)—Jill Lufkin 2.4 seconds for $936.84; and Regan Lawson 2.4 for $936.84. 4 (tie)—Mackenzie Barrington 2.5 for $633.00; and Audrey Eldridge 2.5 for $633.00. 6 (tie)—Kimberly Fehringer 2.8 for $329.16; and Nikki Greenwood 2.8 for $329.16. 8 (tie)—Samantha Crystal 3.1 for $33.76; Kara Avery 3.1 for $33.76; and Bo Jane Smith 3.1 for $33.76 (entry fee $92, 61 riders, $700 added money).

Tie down roping ($4,272 purse): 1—Brian Hill 10.3 seconds for $982.56.

2—Dakota Eldridge 10.4 seconds for $854.40. 3—Ryan Yamauchi 10.5 for $726.24. 4—Lex Smith 11.1 for $598.08. 5—Jake Phillips 11.5 for $469.92. 6—Scott Rogers 11.6 for $341.76. 7 (tie)—Andy Bowden 11.9 for $149.52; and Brady Brower 11.9 for $149.52 (entry $92, 50 ropers, $700 added money).

Bullriding ($3,812 purse including day money): 1 (tie)—Jason Anderson 84 points for $786.28; and Tom Newsom 84 points for $746.29.
