Special Olympic Steelheads Swim In Boise

Courtesy photo On June 26, the Special Olympic Sun Valley Adaptive Sports Steelheads went to Boise for the State Summer Games competing in swimming. Coordinator Shauna Smith-Vladimiroff said, “We all stayed in the generous Holiday Inn, were fed healthy meals fit for a king, had a great time at the opening ceremonies, and boogied down at the closing ceremonies, all sponsored by SO Idaho! We walked away with three first-place medals, two second places, five third places and one fourth place. The relay team got third. The Blaine County Recreation District is an amazing sponsor providing the pool and coach Cameron Randolph for our weekly practices. Our next event is bowling, with regional competitions in November.” Posing here are, front row from left, Dusty Bugge, Nathan Lago, Keith Iverson; second row, from left, Jorge (George) Meza, Abraham Krahn and assistant coach Amanda Duncan; and back row, from left, coach Cameron Randolph, Jerry Smith and program coordinator Shauna Smith-Vladimiroff.
