Finally, Lefty’s wins a soccer tournament
Local men capture La AlianzaWorld Cup meet
Courtesy photo It’s been a long drought, but the Lefty’s F.C. men’s soccer team won its first tournament in several years with a 1-0 victory June 27 in the championship game of the six-team World Cup tournament sponsored by La Alianza at Ketchum’s Atkinson Park. Team organizers said Lefty’s won a big trophy, plus $200, which was promptly converted to beer and consumed with passion and commitment at Lefty’s Bar and Grill. Lefty’s players thanked La Alianza for sponsoring a great tournament.
