Hutchins Consort Plays Knob Hill
Courtesy photo. Southern California’s Hutchins Consort produces a symphonic sound using instruments that range from the tiny treble violin, tuned one octave above the standard violin, to the large bass violin, tuned one octave lower than a cello. The Hutchins Consort members are, from left to right: Christopher Woods on treble, Omar Firestone on tenor, Beth Folsom on soprano, Joe McNalley, artistic director and on contrabass, Carolyn Lechusza-Aquallo on alto, Geoff Gartner on baritone and Frederick Charlton, resident composer and on small bass. The unique violins they play were designed and built by luthier Dr. Carleen Hutchins. The Hutchins Consort will play at the Knob Hill Inn in Ketchum on Saturday, June 27, at 3 p.m. with a reception to mingle with the musicians at 4 p.m. Tickets are $40.
