People and Places


Max Sabel

Ketchum resident Maxwell Millspaugh Sabel graduated May 24 from Cate School in Carpinteria, Ca. Located one mile from the ocean, in the foothills of Santa Barbara County, Cate School is a coeducational college preparatory boarding school of 265 students that was founded in 1910.

Peter Driscoll, son of John and Kate Driscoll of Ketchum, graduated May 23 from the Gow School in South Wales, N.Y. He was the recipient of the 1989 Memorial Award for Excellence in Fine Art. Peter will attend Montana State University in Bozeman in fall 2009.

Army Pvt. Sonny D. Barkes has graduated from nine weeks of basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

Barkes is the brother of Anthon Rooney of West Magic Road, Hailey.

Community School alumni Connor Wade of Ketchum graduated May 18 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Boston College's College of Arts and Sciences in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

Ketchum resident and Wood River High School graduate Margii Driscoll made the Dean's List for the spring semester at the University of Vermont.

Katherine Nosworthy of Ketchum, a Northeastern University student majoring in criminal justice, was recently named to the Boston (Mass.) university's Dean's List for the 2009 spring semester.
