Little Wood Builders takes over 1st place

Bats come alive in Hailey Coed Softball League

Riding the bats of T.J. Peterson and Sean Harrington, the LDE Electric/Little Wood Builders team in the Hailey Coed Softball League took over first place Wednesday with a 20-4 five-inning run-rule win over previously unbeaten Cowboy Cocina/Wise Guy (2-1).

Peterson cranked out a three-run homer in Little Wood's five-run first, then Harrington drilled his third hit of the game, a two-run double, in Little Wood Builders' nine-run fourth inning outburst that broke the slow-pitch game wide open at Lion's Park in Hailey.

Harrington and Peterson were leaders on last year's Smith Sport Optics league tournament champions, but they've now gravitated over to LDE Electric/Little Wood Builders (2-0) and helped the team to an early 20.5 runs per game offensive average.

Little Wood Builders played perennial league power Wicked Spud/Bradley Construction (2-1) Thursday night in another big early-season Hailey game. In another game Wednesday, Hailey Hotel (2-1) knocked Infininaut (3-1) out of the unbeaten ranks with an 11-8 win.
