Five Blaine County residents escaped serious injury in a one-vehicle rollover early Sunday morning on U.S. Highway 20 west of Timmerman Junction.
The Blaine County Sheriff's Office reported Monday that the accident occurred around 4:30 a.m. near Stanton's Crossing, about 1.5 miles west of the junction. According to the sheriff's office report, Eric Heywood, a 20-year-old Bellevue man, was eastbound driving a green 1995 GMC Sierra pickup when he lost control of the vehicle.
"The driver fell asleep, one of the passengers tried to grab the wheel to keep it on the road, but they went off of the road and rolled," said sheriff's spokesman Lt. Jay Davis.
Three of the occupants, including Heywood, were transported to St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center, where they were treated and released. Davis identified the other two persons transported as Stephenie Bird, 20, of Hailey, and Autumn Bear, 25, of Hailey. Davis said Theron Kolp, 21, of Bellevue, and Torin Aitken, 20, of Hailey, were also in the vehicle but were not taken to the hospital.

Davis said Heywood was issued a citation alleging driving under the influence.
He said the occupants of the vehicle reported that they had earlier attended a party in Camas County.
The sheriff's office report did not indicate whether or not any of the vehicle occupants were wearing seatbelts.
