Sara Evans, one of country music's biggest stars, is coming to Sun Valley for a one-of-a-kind, boot-scootin' performance at the Sun Valley Pavilion.

Evans first made a name for herself in Nashville in the late 1990s. She has become one of the most popular female vocalists in the country music world, boasting several No. 1 hits. In 2000, her album "Born to Fly' was certified double-platinum. "Born to Fly" also earned the singer-songwriter her first Country Music Association award for video of the year in 2001.

Born and raised on a farm in Boonville, Miss., Evans started singing in her family's band at the tender age of 5. At age 8, Evans was hit by a car. Despite suffering multiple fractures and living in a wheelchair for several months, she continued to sing in order to help pay the medical bills.

While her looks landed her a spot in People magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People," Evans' voice is what really steals the show. It is in a class of its own, comparable to some of country music's biggest legends, such as Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette.

Chris Willman, a senior music writer for Entertainment Weekly, wrote that Evans has "a warm, welcoming voice you could just about fall into. Two slices of relaxed, Memphis-style R&B suggest she might've even missed a calling as a white soul singer."

Evans is currently working on her sixth studio album with her brother Matt Evans and producer Nathan Chapman. The first single, "Desperately," is expected sometime in June.
