Changes in management at the Sun Valley Resort continue, with Peter Stearns' promotion to mountain manager.

On Tuesday, Sun Valley Resort spokesman Jack Sibbach confirmed that Stearns had replaced long-time resort employee Mike Federko.

"We want to thank Mike for over 30 years of service to the Holding family," Sibbach said.

Stearns, who last held the position of assistant mountain manager, has worked for the resort since the early 1980s.

The change follows on the heels of the recent hiring of new resort General Manager Tim Silva, who took over from Wally Huffman in mid-May. Huffman was promoted to a new position as director of resort development.

Any impacts the changes will have on Bald Mountain, and on the resort in general, remain unclear just yet.

"Tim will certainly bring some different views, but I don't think there will be any changes overnight," Sibbach said. "Nothing has been done lightly with this transition."
